After-School Tutoring: Tutoring is available on Mondays, Wednesdays (math, language arts, science and social studies). The student must have permission by a parent / guardian note or parent phone contact to be able to participate. Schedule will be announced. Contact Michael Firch.
Concert Band: 7th and 8th grade band members participate in concert and marching band events. These students have band as a class during the daily school schedule. Students may try out for All-State Band. Contact Wayne Smith.

Cross Country: Fall intramural program that introduces students to the sport of cross country. 6th, 7th and 8th graders participate. Contact Heather Fitzgerald.
Drama Club: Consists of 6th, 7th and 8th graders. Practice after-school and prepare for culminating end-of-the-year production. Participate in various school and community activities. Club forms in fall. Contact Nancy Poinsett.

History Day: Students compete in school-wide competitions with History Day projects. Open for 6th, 7th and 8th grade students to enter through their social studies class. Students may qualify for state and national competitions. Eight state winners in 2004. Contact Judy Purcell.

Math League: Students compete versus other middle schools in their ability to solve math problems. 6th, 7th and 8th grade students may compete. Will start in fall.
Odyssey of the Mind: Begins in November. Students use problem-solving skills to conquer scientific-type tasks. Open for 6th, 7th and 8th grade students. Placed 4th in the world in 2004. Contact Pam Swain.
Soccer: Tryouts are for 6th, 7th and 8th grade boys and girls. Begins in August. Team plays an interscholastic schedule versus other middle schools. Contact Keith Short.
Girls' Soccer: Spring intramural program that introduces students to the skills and game of soccer. 6th, 7th and 8th graders participate. Contact Keith Short.
Softball: Tryouts are for 6th, 7th and 8th graders and begin in March. Team plays an interscholastic schedule versus other middle schools. Contact Don Parsley
Student Council: Students are selected by peers to represent their grade level and school in providing leadership. Student Council helps with many school activities. School Officers are selected by school-wide vote. Contact Nancy Poinsett and Judy Purcell.
Student Mentoring Program: Adult mentors meet with students for an hour a week. New program just beginning. Adults go through background checks and training before mentoring. Assists students and provides another caring person in their lives
Victims of Violence Counseling: Counseling during the school day for students who have been victims of family violence. Two People's Place counselors are available to assist students. Contact Christina Carver and Miranda Marquez
